The Quarters & Breakout

About

The BDH complex in Blyth features three tourist and accommodation attractions including The Quarters, Breakout Escape Rooms and Lovelock Bed and Breakfast.

The Quarters is a quirky piece of local history, the former Blyth District Hospital Nurses Quarters is in a quiet setting with plenty of privacy.

The Quarters has been rejuvenated to do what it was made for, to provide accommodation in a Hostel format with private rooms and share kitchen, living areas and bathrooms.

The Quarters is designed in mind for those coming into the region to work or to do a student placement. With a minimum four night stay (M-F) or weekly rates, it is comfortable accommodation at an affordable rate.

The Breakout Escape Rooms provide an engaging escape room experience that is suitable for groups of two to eight people. Your crew is ‘locked’ in a room with concealed and mysterious challenges, using only your wits and the carefully placed items as clues to escape.

The Breakout Escape rooms include:

  • The Genie’s Lamp – a 30 minute adventure experience – Age four and above (with an adult
  • Prison Break – 60 minute escape experience – age 12 and up with up to eight players
  • Prohibition Room – 60 minute escape experience – age 14 and up with up to six players

The Lovelock Bed and Breakfast (opening in October) is set in a peaceful location with a good mix of the old and the new, suitab;le for couples or small groups, and sleeps up to six guests.

Extension renovations have breathed new life into the Elizabeth Lovelock Memorial ward building, turning it into the Lovelock Bed and Breakfast.

Original funding for the construction was donated by S.G. Lovelock in loving memory of his mother.
